changing the world . . . one life at a time
In 2006 CompassionAsia became an integral part of ChurchAsia. Compassion ministry is most effective when it flows thru the local church. The churches we have developed in South Asia are now strong enough to partner with us in meeting the needs of the local communities. We have 13 Children in the Bhaktapur Children’s Home and 17 blind children in the Home of Hope, the Jumla blind hostel in the remote mountains of western Nepal. We purchased property in Jumla and have just completed building a new facility for the blind children. We also purchased 8 acres on the plains of Southwest Nepal and are developing a children’s village that will accommodate 120 children.
Being a nurse, I have a heart to help the poor in practical ways. The Chinese proverb, Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will eat for a lifetime, rings true with me. I am all about helping people help themselves. I want them to realize they can rise up out of the poverty many of them were born into. To me it is the Gospel in action.
